BEIJING, August 20 -- Lucent Technologies announced it has been awarded a series of optical contracts with a combined total of $15 million to supply state-of-the-art optical networking systems to carriers in China's Shanghai, Guangdong and Zhejiang regions.
Lucent will provide systems to Shanghai Telecom, Guangdong Unicom, Zhongshan Telecom and Zhejiang Telecom. The company will provide equipment including the LambdaUnite multiservice switch (MSS), a next-generation optical transport system and switch; numerous multiservice metro access products from Lucent's WaveStar family and network management systems from the Navis Optical Management Solutions family.
