MURRAY HILL, NJ, April 13 -- Lucent Technologies and Ascend Communications report that they have received antitrust clearance for their proposed merger from both the US Department of Justice and the European Commission. The merger, which was announced on Jan. 13, is expected to be completed in the quarter ending June 30, pending final approval from Ascend's shareowners.
