Lockheed Martin Co. said its INFIRNO sensor system has completed its first flight aboard a H-60 BLACK HAWK helicopter, validating its ability to detect, identify and track targets from an airborne platform. The sensor, integrated on the nose of the helicopter, met test objectives that verified line-of-sight stability and image quality, and completed more than eight flight-test hours. INFIRNO's 15-in. turret features HD midwave-infrared and color sensors, advanced image processing, multimode tracker, laser designator/rangefinder, and geolocation capabilities.
