Lithuanian Laser Laboratory Opens in Taiwan
Citing the Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Central European Initiative reported the establishment and opening of the Lithuanian Laser Laboratory in Taiwan. The laboratory will serve to expedite the development of laser and other innovative technologies, with funding provided by the Lithuanian Science Council and Taiwanese representatives.
The lab was opened with the aid of 14 Lithuanian laser and photonics businesses that provided €1.5 million ($1.6 million) in laboratory equipment. Taiwan also committed €1.5 million in the construction of new laser professional facilities.
The Lithuanian Laser Association and the Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute signed a letter of intent earlier this year to establish a joint laser technology research center in Taiwan.
