Liquid Instruments Integrates AI into Moku Platform

Liquid Instruments has integrated AI into its Moku platform, including a new instrument, the Moku Neural Network. The added capabilities enable the quick deployment of machine learning models to physical systems, for applications including signal analysis, denoising, sensor conditioning, and closed loop feedback.

The Moku platform uses field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) to deliver a suite of instruments — from bench essentials including an oscilloscope to advanced tools including a lock-in amplifier — on one device. The Moku Neural Network enables users to rapidly develop and train their own artificial neural networks with Python and upload them to their Moku:Pro device.

Liquid Instruments is also adding a generative AI tool to provide quick answers to users’ product questions. The latest advancement comes after the company integrated the ChatGPT language model into its Moku family of products last year.

Glossary
oscilloscope
A system in which a supplied signal causes the deflection of the electron beam in a cathode-ray tube, thus forming a visible trace on the phosphor screen of the tube and providing for examination of signal characteristics. A CRT oscilloscope is particularly convenient for studying repetitive phenomena, but a tube with a long-delay phosphor can be used to analyze a single electrical pulse. An oscilloscope equipped with a camera becomes an oscillograph.
metrology
Metrology is the science and practice of measurement. It encompasses the theoretical and practical aspects of measurement, including the development of measurement standards, techniques, and instruments, as well as the application of measurement principles in various fields. The primary objectives of metrology are to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency in measurements and to establish traceability to recognized standards. Metrology plays a crucial role in science, industry,...
amplifier
A device that enlarges and strengthens a signal's output without significantly distorting its original waveshape. There are amplifiers for acoustical, optical and electronic signals.
neural network
A computing paradigm that attempts to process information in a manner similar to that of the brain; it differs from artificial intelligence in that it relies not on pre-programming but on the acquisition and evolution of interconnections between nodes. These computational models have shown extensive usage in applications that involve pattern recognition as well as machine learning as the interconnections between nodes continue to compute updated values from previous inputs.
artificial intelligence
The ability of a machine to perform certain complex functions normally associated with human intelligence, such as judgment, pattern recognition, understanding, learning, planning, and problem solving.
