Lighthouse Imaging’s Endolume Issued Key Patent
PORTLAND, Maine, Oct. 28, 2011 — Endoscopic equipment manufacturer Lighthouse Imaging Corp. announced that a key element of its Endolume testing device was issued Patent No. 8040496 by the US Patent and Trademark Office.
The patent is for the company’s Optical Bridge, which enables the Endolume to measure endoscopic light sources without a light cable. This allows for more accurate measurements.
Endolume is a portable, handheld device that measures the luminous intensity of endoscopic system light sources as well as light transmission through light cables and rigid or flexible endoscopes. It enables hospital clinical engineering staff to quickly troubleshoot the illumination for endoscopic systems before patient procedures.
