TUSTIN, Calif., Feb. 22, 2010 – LightWorks Optics Inc., a custom precision optical components and advanced integrated optics solutions company, will open a new 14,000-square-foot office and manufacturing facility this month, located adjacent to the company’s corporate headquarters in Tustin, Calif.

Fueled by marked annualized growth and increased demand from the biomedical, aerospace, defense and commercial industries for new innovative optics technologies, the new facility will help speed product development efforts, optimize testing efficacy and significantly expand production capacity, said the company.

“Due to our success over the past five years, we have simply outgrown our current accommodations,” said Dan Barber, president and CEO of LightWorks Optics. “I’m proud of how far we’ve come and believe this new facility will help us sustain that growth while providing excellent value and performance for our customers.”

This is the second expansion into new facilities over the past two years.

According to the company, consistent growth has been enhanced by state-of-the-art assets which include two large single-point diamond-turning machines, aspheric and conventional polishing equipment, a CNC machining center, two certified clean rooms and multiple, high-end integration and testing stations.

With the opening of the high-volume production facility in Vista, Calif. in 2009, LightWorks Optics now occupies more than 40,000-square-feet of total operating space. The company is also concurrently modernizing their existing headquarters to complement the new facility and enhance overall productivity.
