JDSU of Milpitas, Calif., has licensed patent rights for fundamental picosecond laser technology to Hamamatsu Corp. of Bridgewater, N.J., for the development of microelectronic products. The technology is suitable for micromachining and applications related to microsurgery, robotics, biological warfare detection and high-precision optical radar. JDSU specializes in telecommunications testing and measurement.
