Laservision USA Expands Product Portfolio with Innovative Optics Acquisition
Laservision USA, a subsidiary of the Uvex Safety Group specialized in laser safety protection and training, has acquired Innovative Optics (IO) and its industrial division, Innovative Laser Safety (ILS). The acquisition expands Laservision’s product portfolio to include highly specialized medical and aesthetic protective eyewear, as well as emerging innovations such as disposable skin protection products used in laser skin procedures, as the company makes a strategic expansion into the medical and aesthetic laser safety space.
The company said the move also serves to reinforce its position in laser safety manufacturing and supply.
Innovative Optics, founded in 1993, is a designer and manufacturer of advanced laser safety eyewear and patient protection devices for the medical, dental, and aesthetic treatment markets. The ILS division supplies specialized laser safety solutions — including barriers windows, and enclosures — for industrial, educational, military, and research applications.
Per the acquisition, Andrew Barrows, former CEO of Innovative Optics, will join Laservision as a director of sales and product development.
Laservision was founded in 1995 as Trinity Technologies and currently operates from a 16,500-sq-ft facility in St. Paul, Minnesota.
