ATLANTA, GA, May 17 -- Lasertec International announced the successful completion of the first phase of human clinical trials conducted in Paris using laser resonance to treat surface bladder polyps. Guy Cherbit, Lasertec's chief scientist and the inventor of Photo Therapy Resonance (PTR), said In clinical tests with our light laser resonance procedure, all tumors were eliminated in the treated areas. All individuals continue to have functioning bladders. None underwent surgery. And most importantly, there has been no recurrence of polyps in the treated areas, with the longest case history now being 8 months.
The results of the first phase of human clinical tests of PTR for cancer treatment were outlined at a press conference at The Academy of Medicine in Atlanta. PTR was designed to selectively destroy tumors while leaving surrounding healthy cells unharmed. Professor Cherbit noted that the technology might prove effective in treating certain other forms of cancer as well, especially cancers located in natural cavities or in areas accessible from natural cavities. To date, pre-clinical trials conducted in different pathologies have been satisfactory, according to Professor Cherbit.
