Bill Shiner, vice president of industrial markets at IPG Photonics Corp. in Oxford, Mass., has received the 2009 President’s Award from the Laser Institute of America. The prize, presented at the ICALEO conference, honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the society, enabling its growth and prosperity. This was the first time in more than five years that the award had been presented.
