LI-COR, MitoSciences to Collaborate

LINCOLN, Neb., April 7, 2011 — Li-Cor Biosciences announced that it will work with MitoSciences to create specific assays for disease and metabolic pathway research.

MitoSciences, a manufacturer of monoclonal antibodies and immunoassays for studying mitochondrial function and metabolism, recently released three In-Cell ELISA (ICE) assays that monitor the stress-induced, species-variant or tissue-specific changes in the levels of mitochondrial and other metabolic targets. Also known as In-Cell Western assays, they offer a high-throughput, reproducible and quantitative method of determining protein levels in cultured cells.

Li-Cor’s Odyssey infrared imaging systems set the standard for quantitative near-infrared fluorescence imaging, according to the company, which also manufactures IRDye fluorescent dye-labeled secondary antibodies that are incorporated into the MitoSciences ICE kits.

Li-Cor Biosciences manufactures near-infrared imaging platforms, analysis software and IRDye infrared dye reagents for quantitative Western blotting, small-animal imaging and DNA fragment analysis.
