SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 12 -- Kyocera Solar Inc. has sold Sunelco, its catalog and retail sales division in Hamilton, Mont., to Tom Bishop, a long-time Sunelco employee and division manager. Terms of the sale were not disclosed. Bishop has formed a new company, Sunelco Inc., which is an authorized dealer of Kyocera solar products.
"Kyocera's sale of Sunelco reflects our focused business strategy and eliminates a possibility for Kyocera to be in competition with its dealer network," said Doug Allday, president of Kyocera Solar Inc.
Kyocera Solar said it will continue to focus on providing solar-related products and solutions in the areas of residential and commercial grid-tie, industrial systems and water pumping to its dealer/OEM customer base.
