Polatis Ltd. (booth 2384) has announced an agreement to distribute its optical cross-connect switches through JDS Uniphase Corp. (booth 1201). Polatis, based in Cambridge, England, has developed an ultrahigh performance micro-actuation and sensing system (MASS) that uses subcomponents such as piezoelectric actuators and optical collimators to produce direct-beam-steering optical switches.
