COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 28 -- Machine vision product manufacturer JAI A-S has purchased Sunnyvale, Calif.-based PULNiX America Inc., a supplier of machine vision components. The purchase includes all shares of PULNiX, its intellectual property and camera technology and regional sales and support offices in Japan and Australia.
PULNiX America will remain in Sunnyvale, and Toshi Hori will remain its president and CEO.
JAI's CEO Jorgen Andersen said, "The business and technology of PULNiX is an excellent complement to JAI's existing capabilities and products. JAI and PULNiX will be among the world's largest suppliers of camera solutions for the global imaging markets."
JAI was established in 1963 in Copenhagen and has subsidiaries in England, Japan and the US. The company operates three business areas: JAI Camera Solutions manufactures and supplies cameras for the automated imaging and general imaging/surveillance markets; JAI Systems develops optical electronic surveillance systems; and JAI Direct selects and distributes brand name video, data and telecommunications equipment.
