In Chatsworth, Calif., the sample processing division of Iris International Inc., a manufacturer of automated in vitro diagnostic systems, has begun shipment of its new 12-place cytocentrifuge, the Statspin CytoFuge 12. The device concentrates up to 12 samples, gently depositing cells in a monolayer onto microscope slides for cell preparations, including fine-needle aspirates, synovial fluids, urine, pleural fluids, bone marrow and cytology specimens.
