Emcore Corp. of Santa Clara, Calif., will purchase the telecommunications-related section of the optical platform division of Intel Corp. of Albuquerque, N.M., for $85 million. The former will acquire intellectual property and technology relating to tunable lasers and transponders, expanding its fiber optics product portfolio.
