Inexpensive Bottled Water Purer, Jmar Finds

Jmar Technologies Inc. of San Diego, a developer of sensing systems for the detection of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosive materials, has announced the results of an independent study into the different purity levels of the leading brands of bottled water. The findings, based on the company’s pathogen detection technology, were surprising, Jmar said, as they revealed that many of the higher-priced brands contained heavier concentrations of bioparticle contamination than less expensive brands. The company expects to focus its initial marketing efforts for its BioSentry® detection system toward the beverage, pharmaceutical, food processing and health care markets. The system is currently providing water quality security at sites in the US, Europe and elsewhere.
