The Rochester-area optics community is morning the loss of Richard A. Nasca, who died suddenly Dec. 2 at age 57. Nasca was an optical manufacturing and finishing technology leader at Corning Tropel Corp. in Fairport, as well as past president of the American Precision Optics Manufacturers Association (APOMA). He was also involved in the optics program at Monroe Community College, according to New York Photonics, an industry organization. He is survived by a wife and two daughters, as well as other relatives, according to his obituary. Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Rochester.
