Imperx Names Lee Kimes Director of R&D

BOCA RATON, Fla., Nov. 6, 2015 — Imaging firm Imperx Inc. has named Lee Kimes director of R&D in its engineering department. Kimes will head the company's new R&D facility in Orlando.

Kimes has been a part of the military and aerospace industry since 1987. He spent eight years with the Advanced Design Group of Westinghouse's Center of Excellence for Electro-Optical Systems, where he focused on IR imaging systems and imaging electronics. He then spent 18 years at Flir Systems, managing and directing R&D for large gimbaled electro-optical and IR systems, as well as laser designator development, imaging processing, avionics electronics and electrical systems.

Imperx designs and manufactures cameras, frame grabbers and industrial imaging systems for the machine vision, medical, military, space and automation markets.
