SAN DIEGO, July 10 -- ImageWare Systems Inc. will obtain Imaging Technology Corp. (Hudson, Mass.) in a stock transaction that will take effect on July 14 pending certain conditions, said ImageWare Systems.
ImageWare, which has sold a number of its Crime Capture Systems and Face ID products to police departments around the US, hopes to break into bigger security markets with its acquisition of Imaging Technology. ImageWare Systems will increase its product line with photo identification cards and documents made by Imaging Technology's digital imaging software. The software is used for driver's licenses, voter registration programs, national ID programs, passport programs and for public and private security applications, said ImageWare Systems.
Expanding our product offering into the secure identification card market has always been a strategic objective of ImageWare's and we are excited to have the demonstrated capabilities of ITC under the ImageWare roof, said Jim Miller, CEO and chairman of ImageWare. ImageWare's strength in managing large image databases and in integrating with legacy systems, coupled with ITC's identification card experience and international presence, will result in a combined organization better positioned to aggressively expand into multiple public and private markets around the world.
