ITT Wins Defense Contract for Night-Vision Goggles
ITT Industries' Night Vision Div. in Roanoke, Va., will provide enhanced night-vision goggles under a contract from the US Army Research, Development & Engineering Command Acquisition Center. The Army has initiated a base award of $10 million for the contract, which has a potential value of $560 million over a five-year period. The goggle technology optically combines IR and image-intensification images to improve mobility, situational awareness and target detection.
