OXFORD, Mass., Dec. 17 -- IPG Photonics Corp. announced it is shipping a 6-kilowatt diode pumped fiber laser to a German automotive customer this month. This announcement follows trials of several of IPG Photonics' 2-kilowatt fiber laser systems by large European industrial customers. The 6-kilowatt fiber laser is undergoing extensive internal qualification at IPG's Burbach, Germany facility prior to shipment.
