ANN ARBOR, Mich., June 10, 2010 — IMRA America Inc. announced Tuesday that it was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification established by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute for its recently completed addition of an R&D building in Ann Arbor.

The ultrafast fiber laser technologies company received the award for its fourth building, located in Ann Arbor Technology Park. The 22,000 sq. ft. facility consists of laboratories and office areas designed from its inception to achieve the LEED gold rating.

LEED is a green building certification system that provides third-party verification that a building or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at improving performance across many categories, including energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, improved indoor environmental quality, and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts.
