IMRA America, LLH RWTH University Collaborate

IMRA America Inc., an Ann Arbor, Mich., ultrafast fiber laser technology developer, has made an agreement with the Lehrstuhl für Lasertechnik (LLT) laser facility at RWTH Aachen University's Fraunhofer Institut für Lasertechnik, in Aachen, Germany, to create a premier application laboratory (PAL). The lab will be the site of feasibility studies using IMRA's ultrafast fiber lasers in Europe; the collaboration will also foster research in material processing applications using fiber laser amplified systems, IMRA said. The agreement allows LLT to receive IMRA's FCPA µJewel laser technology at its Aachen facility for application tests, which will be performed by LLT and by other interested researchers and engineers through agreements either directly with LLT or with IMRA. All work will be coordinated by LLT staff members. For more information, visit: www.imra.com
