ICN's Wrinkle Removal Laser Technology OK'd by FDA
COSTA MESA, Calif., Sept. 7 -- ICN Pharmaceuticals Inc. has gotten the US Food and Drug Administration's approval to sell its laser technology designed to remove wrinkles. Clinical studies have shown that ICN Pharmaceuticals' NLite nonablative laser is capable of removing wrinkles without damaging the surface of the skin. The 20-minute procedure is performed without anesthesia and causes the patient no pain, the company said.
Our biochemical and clinical studies have conclusively shown that NLite can significantly increase the natural collagen production rate, thereby improving skin tone and reducing wrinkles without the side effects of traditional laser therapy, said Professor Peter Bjerring, lead author of a recent study published in the Journal of Cutaneous Laser Therapy.
