ALPHARETTA, Ga. April 27, 2015 — Scott Huennekens has been elevated to the position of chairman of the board at endoscope manufacturer EndoChoice Inc.

Jim Balkcom, who had been chairman since 2009, will remain on the board of directors and continues to serve as chairman of the governance and compliance committee.

Huennekens was CEO of Volcano Corp., a manufacturer of intravascular imaging equipment, from 2002 until February 2015. He led Volcano from a startup to a public company with annual sales of approximately $400 million. Volcano was acquired in February 2015 by Royal Philips NV for $1.2 billion.

Earlier, Huennekens was president and CEO of medical imaging firm Digirad Corp. and held senior positions at Baxter International Inc. He is currently chairman of the board for the Medical Device Manufacturers Association.

EndoChoice develops endoscopic imaging systems, devices and infection control products, and pathology services for specialists treating gastrointestinal conditions including colon cancer.
