BOLTON, Mass., July 7, 2022 — Hyperspectral technology company Headwall Photonics has made a strategic growth investment in perClass BV, developer of the perClass Mira spectral analysis software package. With the investment, perClass becomes part of the Headwall Group, of which perClass shareholders are now partial owners.

The acquired software, employed in Headwall’s Hyperspec MV.X, integrates with various spectral sensors and enables intuitive spectral imaging analysis for machine vision applications in research, industry, and other commercial deployments. Headwall additionally develops OEM devices for applications in remote sensing and industrial machine vision including food quality/safety inspection, precision agriculture, and environmental monitoring. Don Battistoni, president of Headwall, said that perClass Mira helps to expand addressable use cases for spectral imaging across industrial markets.

Earlier this year, Headwall completed a recapitalization led by private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners that resulted in in Arsenal becoming the majority owner.
