Hamamatsu’s NKT Photonics Acquisition Gets Green Light

The Danish Business Authority has approved the sale of NKT Photonics to Photonics Management Europe S.R.L., a 100% owned subsidiary of Hamamatsu Photonics K.K, one year after blocking the planned sale under the Danish Investment Screening Act. Closing of the acquisition was subject to regulatory approvals, which Hamamatsu obtained from the relevant authorities in Germany, the U.K., and the U.S.

In July 2023, Hamamatsu refiled its application to have the transaction approved in Denmark.

NKT said that it expects the transaction to be completed within the second quarter of 2024.
