Gooch & Housego Ink Q-Switch Deal with Han’s Laser

ILMINSTER, England, Jan. 28, 2013 — Gooch & Housego has signed a three-year contract to supply acousto-optic Q-switches to Han’s Laser of Shenzhen, China.

Under the deal, Gooch & Housego’s conduction-cooled devices will be integrated into Han’s Laser’s systems. The Q-switches have very low insertion loss and can withstand very high laser peak powers, making them suitable for applications ranging from materials processing and medical surgery to lithography and rapid prototyping.

Gooch & Housego is a vertically integrated supplier of photonic solutions including optical components, assemblies and subsystems, and of light measurement instrumentation and services for the aerospace and defense, biomedical, industrial and R&D sectors.
