Gooch & Housego Inks Deal with Han’s Laser Gooch & Housego of Ilminster, England, has signed a three-year contract to supply acousto-optic Q-switches to Han’s Laser of Shenzhen, China. Under the deal, Gooch & Housego’s conduction-cooled devices will be integrated into Han’s Laser’s systems. The Q-switches have low insertion loss and can withstand high laser peak powers, making them suitable for applications ranging from materials processing and medical surgery to lithography and rapid prototyping. Gooch & Housego is a vertically integrated supplier of photonic solutions including optical components, assemblies and subsystems, and of light-measurement instrumentation and services for the aerospace and defense, biomedical, industrial and R&D sectors.

lithography
Lithography is a key process used in microfabrication and semiconductor manufacturing to create intricate patterns on the surface of substrates, typically silicon wafers. It involves the transfer of a desired pattern onto a photosensitive material called a resist, which is coated onto the substrate. The resist is then selectively exposed to light or other radiation using a mask or reticle that contains the pattern of interest. The lithography process can be broadly categorized into several...
