ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 4 -- Alberto Duran, founder and CEO of Brazil's Mundivox Communications; Sanjiv Ahuja, CEO of the UK wireless company Orange; John T. Stankey, CTO of SBC Communications; and Stefano Pileri, CTO of Telecom Italia, will be among excutives from global service providers who will address 20,000 delegates at the first Globalcomm communications marketplace and summit, organized by the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).
Globalcomm 2006, which replaces Supercomm as TIA's annual event for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, will be held June 4-8 at Chicago's McCormick Place.
TIA President Matthew J. Flanigan said, "Industry dynamics and technology advances are altering the service provider business model. Globalcomm 2006 will bring together all the players impacting the market, from technology vendors to service providers and their enterprise customers. The event offers an invaluable mix of worldwide vision from these top executives along with timely content on how to translate global communications into global commerce."
SBC CTO John T. Stankey will participate in a keynote session jointly organized by TIA and OSP Expo (Outside Plant Exposition and Conference), which will be collocated with Globalcomm. OSP Expo will feature keynotes by SBC executives and education sessions on DSL, fiber optics, triple-play deployments and OSP technology.
Globalcomm topics will include global business opportunities, Internet protocol (IP) video and voice over IP, enterprise communications solutions, next-generation networks, wireless broadband, regulations and ICT vendor/customer case studies. It will feature 450 exhibitors, free keynote addresses and panels and paid conferences by the International Engineering Consortium and other organizations. TIA said the exhibition is 80 percent sold out.
