Intelligent optical layer management solutions supplier Glimmerglass has appointed Bernd Schilp to the position of vice president of sales for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective immediately. With new opportunities throughout EMEA, the company has positioned itself in the region with Schilp leading the sales initiative. Before his new appointment, Schilp served as vice president of sales for EMEA at UTStarcom Inc. as well as at OpVista Inc. He also has served as managing director for Central and Eastern European sales at Lucent/Ascend Communications and has held senior sales roles with Silicon Graphics and Hewlett-Packard.
