NASHUA, N.H., Feb. 25, 2013 — GT Advanced Technologies Inc. has appointed Linda Reinhard as vice president of new business development and product management for the company’s sapphire and proprietary DSS and HiCz furnace products. She will report to Chief Operating Officer Dan Squiller.

Reinhard, with more than 20 years of senior-level experience at technology companies such as Motorola, Nokia, Cisco and H-P, will lead GT’s growth into new market segments, including sapphire for cover and touch-screen applications. For more on this application, see an interview with GT’s Jeff Nestel-Patt at Photonics West 2013 here.

“Linda’s initial focus will be on growing our sapphire material and ASF [advanced sapphire furnace] equipment business, particularly new opportunities in the cover and touch screen markets,” Squiller said. “She has extensive experience in Asia as well as in the mobile device segment, which we believe could be a significant area of opportunity for our sapphire business.” She will also be responsible for driving new business development for GT’s HiCz and traditional PV business furnaces.

Reinhard will be located in GT’s Merrimack headquarters.

The company also announced that it will showcase its cover and touch screen sapphire material this week at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, Spain.
