GSI Group Inc. reported across-the-board revenue increases and higher earnings in the third quarter. Net income was $4.5 million, up from $1.8 million in the third quarter of 2013. Revenues were $94.7 million, an increase of 18.5 percent from $79.9 million in the third quarter of 2013. All three of the company’s operating segments — laser products, medical products and precision motion — brought in higher revenues than in the same period last year. The company said it expects full-year revenues of $364 million to $367 million, or 15 to 16 percent more than in 2013. GSI makes components for medical and industrial OEMs including laser sources, laser scanning and beam-delivery products, optical data collection and machine-vision technologies, medical visualization and informatics, and precision motion control products.
