Fujitsu Names Keith Horn COO of its US Semiconductor Operation

Semiconductor maker Fujitsu Microelectronics America Inc. (FMA) of Sunnyvale, Calif., yesterday named Keith Horn to be its chief operating officer, effective Sept. 1. Horn had been serving as senior vice president of sales and marketing and was already been responsible for FMA's four business groups, as well as marketing communications and engineering. In his new role, the four vice presidents heading operations, IT, human resources, accounting, finance, and legal will also report to him. Horn has been employed by Fujitsu in various positions for almost 14 years. He began his career in sales at Fujitsu Microelectronics in Maidenhead, England, and then moved to the marketing group in the company's European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany. From 1996 until mid-1998 he was European marketing manager for Atmel Corp. In May 1998, he returned to Fujitsu Microelectronics in the US as marketing director for memory products, and became director of marketing of the System Solutions Group in 1999. In July 2001, he became vice president of marketing and, in December 2004, became senior vice president of marketing and sales with full responsibility for all FMA products and services, including packaging and foundry services.
