WILSONVILLE, Ore., October 3, 2008 – Flir Systems Inc., maker of thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems, announced that it has been awarded a $125.3 million, five-year requirements contract from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division. The contract is for Flir’s Brite Star II multi-sensor target designation systems.
Flir has also announced they received a $67.3 million initial delivery order under th NSWC contract. The units delivered will be used by the US Marine Corps and the US Navy for various missions including search and rescue, reconnaissance and attack.
Deliveries for this initial order are expected to begin in early 2009 and will be completed within 24 months of initial shipment. All of the work will be done out of Flir’s Wilsonville, Ore. facilities.
