AMSTERDAM, April 2 – FLAG Telecom said that KPNQwest has purchased multiple wavelengths on FLAG Atlantic-1 (FA-1) transoceanic cable system for an undisclosed amount. "This transaction increases the amount of transatlantic capacity we have at our disposal, giving additional route diversity to our existing arrangements, while still providing the highest level of service to our customers," said Rhett Williams, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of KPNQwest. "This boost to our transatlantic capacity allows us to serve the exploding demand experienced by KPNQwest as a result of the seamless connectivity between our pan-European fiber optic network and Quest's macro-capacity network in North America."
