FRAMOS Partners with Antmicro

TAUFKIRCHEN, Germany, July 22, 2024 — FRAMOS, a provider of imaging and embedded vision technology, has partnered with Antmicro, a specialist in the development of production-ready edge AI and camera systems. The partnership will focus on the development of modular embedded vision devices based on FRAMOS’ optical sensor modules and Antmicro’s comprehensive open source hardware and software portfolio, as well as edge AI, simulation, and hardware development services.

The partnership adds FRAMOS’ FSM:GO sensors to Antmicro’s open source hardware and software ecosystem and promotes component reusability through the modulator of Antmicro’s developed computer vision systems, according to Michael Gielda, Antmicro’s co-founder and vice president of business development.

Antmicro’s System Designer Framework takes advantage of the modularity and openness of product components and allows users to create prototypes through interactive 3D renderings of physical boards, adapters for FRAMOS sensor modules, and individual hardware components. In addition, customers can simulate their software in the open source framework Renode..

Glossary
machine vision
Machine vision, also known as computer vision or computer sight, refers to the technology that enables machines, typically computers, to interpret and understand visual information from the world, much like the human visual system. It involves the development and application of algorithms and systems that allow machines to acquire, process, analyze, and make decisions based on visual data. Key aspects of machine vision include: Image acquisition: Machine vision systems use various...
edge
The flat or angled surface, usually fine-ground, that limits the aperture of a lens or prism surface.
edge ai
Edge AI, also known as edge artificial intelligence, refers to the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and models directly on edge devices, such as smartphones, sensors, IoT devices, and embedded systems, rather than relying solely on centralized cloud computing resources. On-device processing: Edge AI involves running AI algorithms and models directly on edge devices, enabling real-time data processing and decision-making without requiring data to be sent to a...
