FLIR Nabs $13.5M Navy Order

PORTLAND, Ore., April 1, 2010 – Flir Systems Inc. announced that it has received a $13.5 million order from the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division for its Brite Star II multisensor target designation systems.

The order was pursuant to a previously announced $125.3 million, five-year requirements contract. The systems delivered under the order will be used by the US Marine Corps and US Navy for various missions.

Work on the order will be performed at the company’s facilities in Wilsonville, Ore. And is expected to begin and conclude in 2011.

The company designs, manufactures and markets thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems for a range of thermography and imaging applications, including condition monitoring, R&D, manufacturing process control, airborne observation and broadcast, environmental monitoring and ground-based security.
