FISBA Appoints CTO: People in the News: 3/12/25
ST. GALLEN, Switzerland, March 12, 2025 — FISBA, an optical components and systems company, has appointed Matrin Forrer as CTO and head of development. Forrer has been with FISBA for 28 years in various leadership positions, including a previous tenure as CTO. He will also continue to serve as senior vice president of business development and a member of the management team within the organization.

GRAZ, Austria — Embedded systems research company Silicon Austria Labs has added Isabel Tausendschön as CFO. Tausendschön brings years of experience in finance and corporate management, having previously held the same position at Austrian Post International Deutschland GmbH and adverserve Holding GmbH.

NORTH READING, Mass. — Teradyne, a developer of automated test equipment and advanced robotics systems, has appointed Shannon Poulin as president of its semiconductor test division. The appointment will take effect after the retirement of current president Rick Burns, which is set for June 1. Most recently, Poulin was the COO at Altera, formerly a part of Intel. Prior to Altera, he spent 22 years at Intel where he held various general manager roles.

MARTINSRIED, Germany — Solution provider and distributor for optical technologies AMS Technologies AG has appointed Michael Lee as vice president of sales succeeding Klaus Maier, who will transfer responsibilities to Lee before retiring in the second half of 2025. Lee joins AMS Technologies after holding sales directorship and other leadership positions at Maxphotonics GmbH, IPG Photonics, and NKT Photonics.
GARDNER, Mass. — Precision Optics Corporation, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of optical instruments for the medical and defense/aerospace industries, has appointed Buell Duncan to its board of directors, replacing Richard Miles who has retired after serving on the company’s board for 20 years. Duncan held senior leadership positions at a number of IBM global business units between 1992 and 2020, and most recently served as chief marketing officer of IBM’s software, cloud, data and AI businesses.
LAFAYETTE, Colo. — Space-based quantum technology company Xairos Systems, Inc. has added Joseph Campagna as chief strategy officer. Campagna has current top secret sensitive compartmented information access and more than 30 years of experience in the Department of Defense, national security, space, and intelligence communities. He has served on Xairos Systems’ board of advisors since last year and previously co-founded and served as the initial CEO of BridgeComm.
