Excelitas Technologies to Acquire Heraeus Noblelight
Excelitas Technologies has signed a definitive agreement with Heraeus Group to acquire the Heraeus Noblelight business. Heraeus Noblelight specializes in the development and manufacture of specialty light sources and solutions used within analytical instrumentation, industrial curing, water treatment, electronics manufacturing, medical and cosmetic therapy, battery production, and other applications. The business employs approximately 850 people and has operations in Germany, the U.K., U.S., China, and Japan, along with several key application centers.
Michael Ersoni, Excelitas’ executive vice president of commercial business, noted the complementary nature of both companies’ technologies — notably, Heraeus Noblelight’s portfolio with Excelitas’ plasma and LED product offerings. The combination, Ersoni said, will ultimately deliver innovative integrated solutions and a complementary customer and product mix across markets.
The acquisition of Heraeus Noblelight is the latest in a series of strategic acquisitions by Excelitas Technologies. Most recently, Excelitas acquired Phoseon Technology in February.
