The US Navy has given a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant to MicroStrain Inc. of Williston, Vt., a manufacturer of inertial measurement systems, microdisplacement transducers and wireless sensing networks. The award will provide approximately $917,000 over a two-year period and will enable the company to further develop a suite of miniature vibromechanical energy harvesters for powering wireless sensors on Navy aircraft.
