Energetiq Forms Laser-Driven Light Source Business Unit
Photonics manufacturer Energetiq has formed a laser-driven light source (LDLS) business unit. Energetiq’s LDLS technology creates extremely small, high-brightness plasma that delivers efficient light collection and a broad spectral range, from the deep ultraviolet into the near-infrared. Applications for the technology include semiconductor metrology, ellipsometry, lithography, and photoresist development.
Vikram Singh will serve as vice president and general manager of the newly formed unit. Singh worked at Lam Research and Applied Materials in various roles with increasing responsibilities. He has held executive positions responsible for new product development and technology supply chain.
Formalization of the LDLS business comes after Energetiq established a dedicated segment for its extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light source products last year, as well as an R&D facility in support of the EUV business unit at the headquarters of its parent company, Hamamatsu Photonics.
