EndoChoice Holdings Inc. has been awarded contracts for its Fuse endoscopy system and services, as well as infection-control products, by the health care improvement company Premier Inc. of Charlotte, N.C.

Financial terms of the three-year contracts were not disclosed.

EndoChoice's Fuse Full Spectrum Endoscopy system will be available to member facilities. Premier's health care facility network includes approximately 3,400 hospitals and 110,000 other providers in the U.S.

The company's flexible colonoscope uses three cameras to provide a panoramic 330° field of view to physicians. EndoChoice reported clinical data that showed a reduction in the number of missed adenomas during colonoscopies using the system.

The Fuse gastroscope uses two cameras to provide a 245° field of view for upper endoscopy procedures. Premier members previously only had access to single-imager endoscopes from other companies.

EndoChoice's flexible endoscope repair services will be part of the Premier contract as well. Each year there are an estimated 25 million endoscopy procedures performed in the U.S., and the endoscopes used in these procedures require occasional service and repair.

Infection-control products including the CinchPad and EndoKits are also part of the contract. The equipment-cleaning products are designed to prevent cross-contamination between patients and avoid the spread of infectious disease.
