SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Solid-state lighting solutions developer Luminus Devices named Mark Pugh CEO following the retirement of CEO Decai Sun. Pugh served as executive vice president of marketing and sales at the company, and he has served in the optoelectronics industry for over 30 years with leadership roles in business development, marketing, and executive management. He is a co-founder of Xicato, a company that targeted replacing halogen lights with LED modules. He joined Luminus Devices in 2015. Sun founded Lightera Corp. in Silicon Valley in 2012, which acquired and merged with Luminus in 2013. LOWELL, Mass. — MACOM Technology Solutions Holdings Inc. appointed Wayne Struble senior vice president of advanced semiconductor technology. Struble joined MACOM in 2010. He has worked in radio frequency (RF), microwave, and millimeter-wave integrated circuit design, as well as in semiconductor device modeling and testing, compound semiconductor process development, and wireless communication system design. Struble has made technical contributions to the semiconductor industry in the areas of gallium arsenide and gallium nitride circuit design and process development, published more than 25 technical papers, and holds more than 50 patents in the field of RF and microwave semiconductors. ORLANDO, Fla. — Laser Photonics Corp. named Jade Barnwell CFO. Barnwell held interim financial leadership roles in support of portfolio companies for global venture capital and private equity firms. BARCELONA, Spain — The General Assembly of Laserlab-Europe AISBL, the international not-for-profit association representing 47 leading laser research infrastructures in 22 European countries, elected John Collier executive director. Collier serves as director of the Central Laser Facility (CLF), an institution of the Science and Technology Facilities Council, U.K. Collier was the vice-chair of the general assembly of Laserlab-Europe AISBL since March 2022. He assumes the position from Jens Biegert of ICFO (The Institute of Photonic Sciences) in Barcelona, Spain.
