ESI Expands Singapore Operations

SINGAPORE, March 12, 2010 – Portland, Ore.-based Electro Scientific Industries Inc., a provider of photonic and laser systems for microengineering applications, announced it has expanded its operations in Singapore with the opening of a manufacturing and service plant in the Kaki Bukit industrial hub.

The company initially will utilize the facility to produce and service its micromachining and passive component lines.

The 30,000-sq-ft plant features 19 laser stalls, 16 multipurpose manufacturing cells, a professional office area and the potential for a Class 1000 cleanroom. The new facility will enable the company to support its customers throughout Asia.
