WOODBRIDGE, Va., March 7, 2006 -- Defense contractor EOIR Technologies Inc. has received an additional $3.2 million contract from the US Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) for remote sensor technology products and engineering services.
EOIR Technologies' ongoing NVESD omnibus contract provides a maximum of up to $80 million in fiscal year revenues. The contract's fourth year option was awarded on July 15, 2005, and since then, EOIR Technologies awards total $34.7 million.
According to EOIR, many of the products and services being delivered on this contract use next-generation electro-optic and infrared sensor technologies that are supporting US military combat operations. The Army's NVESD has been responsible for numerous key innovations in the fields of optical electronics and thermal imaging for weapons targeting, electronic surveillance and other mission-critical military applications.
EOIR Technologies is a subsidiary of Boston-based Technest Holdings Inc., a provider of advanced imaging and sensor systems to the defense and homeland security markets.
