Supplier of photonic and integrated optic modules EM4 Inc. of Bedford, Mass., has purchased the intellectual property and assets of PowerNetix Inc. The acquisition includes the San Jose, Calif., company's packaging technology, optical manufacturing fixtures, and all of its pending and existing patents. PowerNetix's 9000 series 980-nm pump lasers are Telcordia-qualified. The company has a global customer base of companies in the cable television, industrial and telecommunications industries.
