Dalsa Corp., based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has received an order for electronic cameras valued at $1.3 million from an Asian supplier of flat panel display inspection equipment. Under the contract, the devices will be delivered in the second quarter of the year with the possibility of additional orders. The cameras are integrated into online inspection systems that search for defects in flat panel televisions, notebook computers and liquid crystal display monitors during manufacture. The company has seen greater demand for the devices as flat panel display manufacturers invest in new plants and equipment to produce larger displays, including those for high-definition TV.
